Google Chrome issues JavaScript functionality warning when loading Quartus Prime Help

Critical Issue

Description

When you use Google Chrome to load locally-installed Quartus Prime Help, a message window with the following warning might appear, prompting you to disable some JavaScript functionality:

Chrome limits JavaScript functionality when a page is loaded from the local disk. This prevents the normal help viewer from loading.

You will be redirected to the frameset version of the help.

Resolution

To continue using Google Chrome, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Cancel to close the warning message window.
  2. A second message window with the following warning appears: Not all features are enabled when using Google Chrome for webhelp loaded from local file system! Click OK to close this message window.
  3. After the Quartus Prime Help homepage loads, click the With Frames icon beside the Print icon on the top right corner of the page to render the entries under the Content tab clickable.
