Description

UL 94 is a plastics flammability standard that determines the material’s tendency to either extinguish or spread the flame once the specimen has been ignited.

Classification V-0: burning stops within 10 seconds on a vertical specimen; drips of particles are allowed as long as they are not inflamed.

Altera® products utilize UL 94 V-0 compliant plastic materials (including encapsulation, die-attach epoxy, and underfill).

 

Resolution

Materials with this rating are highly flame-retardant and self-extinguish quickly, minimizing fire hazards.
