alterad: error while loading shared libraries: libiberty.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Environment

Description To work around this problem, modify the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable to include the appropriate platform directory in your Quartus® II software installation (<Quartus II installation directory>/<platform>) before you start the license server.

The platform directory is one of the following:

  • linux
  • solaris
  • hp11

For example, if you run alterad on Linux, and the Quartus II software is installed in /opt/quartus, the directory you must add to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH is /opt/quartus/linux.
