Why doesn’t the Pause button work in Nios II Eclipse version 12.1?

Environment

    Quartus® II Subscription Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to a problem in the Software Build tools for Eclipse version 12.1 the Pause / Suspend button in the Eclipse debugger does not work correctly. 

 

Pressing the Pause/Suspend button will close the GDB connection to the target leaving the processor running.

Resolution

There is no workaround for this problem in the Software Build tools for Eclipse version 12.1.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed for in the next release of the Software Build tools for Eclipse.
