Why does my system hang/lock up during enumeration of the PCIe device?

Environment

    PCI Express
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description Your system will hang or lock up if you incorrectly set your BAR sizes to very large values which outstrip the available host memory.  In these cases the BIOS cannot supply the appropriate amount of memory during enumeration, and the system locks up.
Resolution You must keep your BAR sizes in line with the available memory on your system.  BAR sizes of 4GB or lower are sufficiently small enough in most cases.
