If your DS-5 Altera Edition license is within the one-year maintanance period since the date of purchase (as of 10th November 2014), then you are entitled to a non-cost upgrade DS-5 Altera Edition v5.19.2, that includes ARM Compiler 5.
However, if your maintenance period of DS-5 Altera Edition license has expired, then you need to purchase a new license (Altera part # ESW-SOCEDS-DS5-FIX) from altera.com or your local distributer to upgrade to the latest release with the ARM Compiler 5.
To setup the license file installations for DS-5 Altera Edition v5.19.2 including ARM Compiler 5, please follow the instructions below:
1.)If you have NOT generated a license file from ARM’s website in the past, just follow the regular installation instructions for DS-5 Altera Edition included in SoC EDS 14.0.2.
The license file you generate on ARM’s web site will automatically enable the ARM Compiler 5.
2.)If your license file has already been generated for a prior version of DS-5 Altera Edition and set to a HostID:
IMPORTANT: Prior to saving the new license file on your computer, make a backup copy and remove any old copies of the current license file
- You current license file is named <license file name> and can be found in the directory <….> on your computer
i.)Go to https://silver.arm.com/ and log into your account you used to generate your DS-5 Altera Edition license file.
ii.)From ARM Self Service menu to the left, select “Licenses” > “View”
iii.)Enter your serial number <question to ARM – is the serial number required?
- If yes, please press "Search" and select serial number of the DS-5 Altera Editionthat you wish to upgrade by pressing on the " " button.
iv.)The record will display below. Press the “ ” button to expand the record.
v.)You may then press the “View” button where you can subsequently “Save” your new license file .
