Intel® Platform Performance Package Overview

Content Type: Product Information & Documentation   |   Article ID: 000102685   |   Last Reviewed: 03/23/2026

Intel® Platform Performance Package is a one-stop installer for all software components involved in optimizing the processor performance, including 8 components: 7 drivers and 1 application. It replaces the need to install each component separately.

Processor performance is highly sensitive to the operating environment. Intel’s client platform software continuously monitors these conditions and dynamically adapts processor policies to maximize performance under varying operational constraints.

In the absence of a detailed analysis of the target system’s operational requirements, we recommend installing all performance‑related dependencies through this installer to ensure that the supported optimization mechanisms are available and functional when required.

Intel Platform Performance Package components

  • Intel® Innovation Platform Framework (Intel® IPF) allows select Intel software access to platform information in a secure, unified way. It serves as a software layer that grants certain applications the ability to interact with various platform features on Intel processors. For example, Intel® XTU (version 10) needs Intel® IPF to support unlocked K-SKUs.
  • Intel® Dynamic Tuning Technology (Intel® DTT) is a platform software that delivers longer battery life and better performance simultaneously with cooler and quieter systems.
  • Intel® PPM Provisioning Package Driver installs the PPM package that provides tuned and optimized power management settings for the processor to improve responsiveness, battery life, and performance. For more information, visit Intel® PPM Provisioning Package and Driver Overview and FAQs
  • Intel® Application Optimization determines and directs application resources in real time. This software optimizes thread scheduling along with application threading for selected software titles and may improve performance for supported applications.
  • Intel Application Optimizer User Interface is an optional part of the optimization technology that allows users to see what games are optimized and to turn off optimizations they do not want. Users may disable the entire application or disable specific games under the Enable/Disable Individual Applications tab. The list will vary from user to user, depending on the games detected and optimized by Intel. For more information, visit Intel® Application Optimization Overview and Intel® Binary Optimization Tool
  • Intel® Innovation Platform Framework Providers for GPU Telemetry and Controls (Intel® IPF Providers for GPU Telemetry and Controls) help to manage Intel integrated graphics characteristics, such as operating frequency, and get telemetry information, such as GPU utilization.
  • Intel® System Data IPF Extension Provider Package delivers a comprehensive suite of Intel® Innovation Platform Framework (IPF) Extension Providers for system data collection, monitoring, and diagnostics on Intel platforms.
  • Intel® IPF Providers for Device Management is a platform software package that allows applications to access platform data, configure platform properties and perform tasks within the manageability, security and telemetry domains.

Important Disclaimers before downloading the installer

  • For optimal system performance and compatibility, obtain drivers through Windows* Update or your system manufacturer's official support/service channels. Generic Intel drivers may not include OEM-specific customizations, optimizations, or features present in manufacturer-provided driver packages.
  • This package will attempt to install software on top of existing components. By default, Windows will use the latest driver version installed in the system. To avoid confusion, it is best to install on a clean system without any of the components installed previously.
  • Rebooting the system is necessary after installation or uninstallation of this installer.
