Troubleshooting for Random Crashes After Intel® Arc™ Graphics Driver Updates

System freezes, app hangs, black screens, or spontaneous reboots. Event Viewer shows TDRs involving the Intel graphics driver.

1. Update Your BIOS
   • Before proceeding with the driver installation, it is recommended to update your system's BIOS to the latest version. The latest BIOS version ensures better compatibility with your hardware and can improve overall system performance. Refer to your motherboard's OEM support website to get instructions on how to do this.
2. Clean Install of Intel Graphics Driver
   • To ensure aclean installation, we recommend using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) before installing the new driver. :

       • NOTE: Perform the uninstallation while in Safe Mode.
     • Run DDU in Safe Mode as instructed
     • After the cleanup, reboot into normal mode
     • Download the same (or a newer) driver version you had problems with. Go to Intel Download Center and select the driver that fits your hardware.
     • Run the installer and follow the prompts.
       • If you are not sure what is the driver you should install, go to Intel Drivers & Support Assistant and let it automatically install your needed drivers.
