What it does
Intel Precompiled Shaders automatically downloads pre-optimized shader files from Intel's cloud storage to your PC. By reducing the need for real-time compilation during gameplay, this technology reduces game loading times and prevents stuttering caused by shader compilation during gameplay when shaders are compiled on-the-fly.
How it works
When you install a supported game, Intel® Graphics Software and Intel graphics driver, Intel Precompiled Shader Distribution checks for pre-optimized shader files that match your specific hardware and driver configuration. These shader files are downloaded from Intel's servers and cached locally, allowing games launched through Steam to load faster and run more smoothly from the first launch.
How to enable/disable
Intel Precompiled Shader Distribution is disabled by default on supported systems.
To manually enable Precompiled Shaders:
Enabling Precompiled Shaders will now initiate a download of all Steam*-supported game shader cache installed on the system. Installing a supported Steam game will also download the shader cache file for the game.

FAQ
Q: How much storage space do precompiled shaders use?
A: Storage requirements vary by game, but shader files are typically small (usually under 100MB per game) and are stored in your system's disk.
Q: Will this work with games I already have installed?
A: Yes, the feature works with supported titles both newly installed games and games already in your library. You may already have precompiled shaders for previously played games so this feature may not show an immediate benefit.
Q: How much faster will my games load?
A: Load time improvements vary by game and system configuration, but users typically see 20-50% faster initial loading times and elimination of in-game stuttering.
Q: Does this affect game quality or visual settings?
A: No, precompiled shaders maintain the same visual quality as standard shader compilation while improving performance.
Q: Does this require an always-on internet connection?
A: An Internet connection is only needed for the initial download of shader files. Once downloaded, games will work offline.
Q: What happens if I update my graphics drivers?
A: The system will automatically download updated shader files optimized for your new driver version when available.
Q: What if my game isn't on the supported list?
A: Games not on the supported list will continue to use standard shader compilation.
