Description

Encountering HTTP 404 errors with the message "No cache data for this platform" when trying to access security certificates on Intel® Xeon® Processors.

Resolution

Common Causes for the 404 Error

  1. Outdated BIOS: Your system's BIOS may need an update to properly support the processor's security features
  2. Operating System Compatibility: Your current OS version might not fully support the processor's advanced security capabilities
  3. Software Version Conflicts: The security software trying to communicate with Intel's servers may be outdated
  4. Missing System Components: Essential security drivers might not be installed or properly configured
  5. Registration Issues: Your processor platform may not be properly registered with Intel's security system

Steps to resolve

  1. Verify Operating System Compatibility - Ensure you're running an operating system that's officially certified for Intel® Xeon® processors. Uncertified operating systems may lack the necessary SGX™ drivers and kernel modules required for proper functionality.
  2. Check API Endpoint Versions - Verify you're using a supported API endpoint version in your requests. Most current documentation and community resources support v3 or v4 endpoints. Avoid using unsupported versions like v5, which can trigger 404 errors.
  3. Install Required SGX Drivers -  Confirm that the appropriate SGX™ kernel driver (either isgx or DCAP) is properly installed and loaded on your system. Without these drivers, SGX™ operations cannot function correctly.
  4. Verify Platform Registration - Ensure your platform or virtual machine is properly registered with the PCS cache server. If you've used the PCKIDRetrievalTool to generate CSV data, verify that this data was successfully transmitted to the cache server.
