Fortnite* Crashes Randomly While Playing in Performance Mode

Fortnite* Performance Mode crashes randomly, most likely after playing multiple rounds in a row.
After the crash, the error message, "The application has hung and will now close" appears.
When playing on DirectX* 12 there are no crashes.
Issue not seen after the Chapter 6 Season 4 update (Shock n' Awesome). Make sure your game is up to date as well as your graphics driver.
