Why Does the BMC IP Get Erased During System Boot When the Ethernet Cable Is Not Attached on Intel® Server M50FCP/D50DNP

On Intel® Server M50FCP and D50DNP-based systems using OpenBMC, the BMC IP address displays as 0.0.0.0 when no ethernet cable is connected during boot. This is expected behavior. The assigned IP address reappears once the cable is reconnected.
OpenBMC suppresses the display of the assigned BMC IP address when no ethernet cable is detected at boot time. The IP address is retained in memory but is not shown until a physical network connection is established.
This is expected behavior on systems such as the Intel® Server M50FCP/D50DNP-based systems that utilize the OpenBMC standard.
OpenBMC does not delete the previously assigned BMC IP address. However, when no ethernet cable is connected, OpenBMC displays 0.0.0.0 until a cable is detected
After reconnecting the ethernet cable, the previously assigned IP address is displayed again.
This behavior differs from previous Intel server generations that did not use OpenBMC, where the assigned IP address remained visible regardless of cable connection state.
