How To Create and Install a PFX File to the Intel® EMA Server

Description

To create and install a PFX file on the Intel® EMA server using GoDaddy certificates. The process involves exporting the provisioning certificate with the private key and importing it into the Intel® EMA web console.

Resolution

  1. Open MMC and add the certificate snap-in for the computer account.
  2. Check all certificates in the certificate path of your provisioning certificate:
    • Ensure no certificates are missing in the intermediate and root certificate stores.
    • If any certificates are missing, download and import them from the GoDaddy website.

  3. Locate the provisioning certificate in the personal certificate store.
  4. Right-click on the certificate, choose All Tasks then, select Export.
  5. Choose to include the private key:
    • If this option is unavailable, ensure your user account has the necessary access rights, or check if the key is marked as non-exportable.

  6. Choose to include all certificates in the certification path.

  7. Provide a password to protect the private key and complete the export process:
    • If you missed including the private key, you will not be prompted for a password.

Once the export is complete, follow these steps to install the certificate on the Intel® EMA server:

  1. Remove the previous certificate from the EMA web console.
  2. Import the newly exported certificate file.
  3. Update your AMT auto-setup settings.
  4. Attempt to provision your client again.
