System Freezes on BIOS Load Screen with Intel® Arc™ B-Series GPUs
Content Type: Troubleshooting | Article ID: 000100195 | Last Reviewed: 12/13/2024
The BIOS logo screen does not update on some systems with Intel® Arc™ B-Series GPUs.
Intel® Arc™ B-Series GPUs use the PCIE link states L1 and L1-substates to enable low power consumption in idle states. These states are enabled using the system BIOS ASPM settings. Some motherboard system BIOSes do not support these low-power states correctly, resulting in a system hang or freeze at the BIOS screen.
This issue can be resolved by entering the BIOS and turning off the BIOS ASPM settings; doing this will cause the idle power to increase.
If this issue applies to your system, a newer BIOS release may resolve the issue. Please contact your motherboard manufacturer to check if a new BIOS version is available to resolve this issue.
