There is an option in BIOS that says Reset to Non-RAID. Will this option delete the Intel® VROC RAID volume?
The option Reset to Non-RAID found in the BIOS menu is an operation that can be applied to any single disk that Intel® VROC owns. That is, a disk that has Intel® VROC metadata on it and is part of an Intel® VROC array.
This operation will only remove the Intel® VROC metadata from the disk. No other data will be affected. This means that the disk will no longer contain valid Intel® VROC metadata, but the rest of the data such as operating system data, partition table, and so on will remain intact.
The option Reset to Non-RAID option does not affect the actual array, aside from removing the disk from it.
Although the option Reset to Non-RAID does not touch any data in the disk besides the actual Intel® VROC metadata, it may impact the overall RAID health status. If the array is healthy, and it has fault tolerance, applying this operation to a drive member will make the array degrade. If the array does not have fault tolerance, such as a RAID 0, the entire array will fail and all data will be lost. Similarly, if more disks than the maximum fault tolerance of any other RAID volume are reset, the volume will also fail.
