"IPF Not Properly Installed" or "IPF Unsupported" Error Message for Intel® XTU

Description

 

When attempting to start Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) version 10.x with an unlocked Intel® Core™ Ultra Processor (Series 2) and an Intel® Z890 Chipset, users may receive an IPF error message. This will happen when Intel® XTU fails to connect to Intel® Innovation Platform Framework (Intel® IPF) for the following reasons:

  1. Intel® IPF is not installed on the system.
  2. The version of Intel® IPF available on the system is unsupported (outdated).
  3. Intel® IPF is not enabled in BIOS.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, ensure you have the latest BIOS version installed, and that Intel® Platform Innovation Framework (Intel® IPF) is enabled.

Next, follow the guidance in the message box, by clicking the IPF Download Center link, and proceeding to install Intel® IPF.
