This article explains how to check the compatible Socket Type for Intel® Xeon® Processor Family. It will tell us how to check the relevant information based on the processor model and refer to Intel Resources like ARK.
The compatible socket for a specific Intel® Xeon® Processor model can be found on Intel Product Specifications website. The information about compatible sockets is available for all models of Intel® Xeon® Processors.
For example, we have an Intel® Xeon® 6 6960P Processor, 60M Cache, 2.7 GHz. In order to know the compatible socket type, we need to look up this processor in Intel ARK.
On the specific SKU page, under the Package Specification section, we can confirm the compatible Socket Support is FCLGA7529.
