Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) is an enterprise RAID solution that unleashes the performance of NVMe* SSDs. Intel® VROC is enabled by a feature in Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors called Intel® Volume Management Device (Intel® VMD), an integrated controller inside the CPU PCIe root complex. NVMe* SSDs are directly connected to the CPU, allowing the full performance potential of fast storage devices to be realized. Intel® VROC enables these benefits without the complexity, cost, and power consumption of traditional hardware RAID host bus adapter (HBA) cards placed between the drives and the CPU.
The supported NVMe* SSDs by Intel® VROC are shown in the table below. Keep in mind the following considerations while navigating through the supported NVMe* SSDs list below.
| What you should know about the Intel® VROC supported NVMe* SSDs |
 |
The table below includes only SSDs from manufacturers other than Intel. All Intel-branded NVMe* SSDs manufactured by Intel Corporation are supported by all versions of Intel® VROC. Solidigm*-branded drives (formerly Intel® NAND SSDs) are not supported in this configuration. Solidigm SSDs are specifically mentioned in the below list if they are supported.
The NVMe* SSDs in the list below are supported on any Intel® VROC-capable platform as long as the user's platform is running the Intel® VROC revision mentioned in the table or a newer revision. Additional NVMe* SSDs may be supported at the OEM or platform provider level. Contact your OEM or platform provider for a full list of NVMe* SSDs supported for a given platform or Intel® VROC revision.
