Intel® Arc™ Control Software Fails to Launch after Installation

Environment

Windows 11 Pro (for Workstations) This issue started with all drivers after 31.0.101.5379. Previous drivers such as 31.0.101.5333 and 31.0.101.5330 do not show this issue.

Describes an issue in which Intel® Arc™ Control Doesn't Display the window when launched.

Description

Intel® Arc™ Control gets installed with the Driver, and the icon shows up in the tray, but it is impossible to open the interface and, therefore, to change any settings. The process shows that it is running in the Task Manager.

Resolution

A 3rd party application is preventing Intel Arc Control from functioning correctly.

Try the following recommendations:

  1. Uninstall or temporarily stop any Antivirus/Firewall software from running.
    • Consider also temporarily uninstalling application suites that are included with the motherboard (e.g. ASUS Armoury Crate, MSI Center).
  2. Run DDU in Windows safe mode to uninstall the graphics driver and Intel Arc Control.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Reinstall graphics driver 31.0.101.5522 or newer.
  5. Make sure Antivirus/Firewall/app suites are uninstalled or at least disabled during step 4 - this is to prevent them from interfearing with Intel Arc Control.
