Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool BrandString Failed Test for Intel® Processors (N-series, U-Series and for Desktop)

Description

Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool test failed BrandString Test module on specific Intel® processors.

List of processors with known BrandString test fail issue are listed below: 

If your processor is not in the list above, the BrandString failed test may be a result of another issue.

Resolution

Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool team is aware of the issue and will provide a fix in upcoming releases.

A workaround to complete an Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool test is to temporarily disable the BrandString test, which will not test the BrandString Module.

  1. Open Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool.
  2. Stop test by clicking the Stop Test button.
  3. Go to Tools, select Config and click Edit.
  4. Disable the BrandString Test Module flag, by unchecking the box in the Enable column.

After completing the steps above, you can start your test by clicking Start Test.
