Endurance Gaming is a new power-saving feature included in the Intel® Core Ultra platforms and can be enabled through Intel® Graphics Software (IGS) in selected mobile devices. Endurance Gaming Mode extends your gaming sessions by balancing frame rate and power consumption, providing playable and consistent frame rates, while minimizing battery usage when not plugged in on mobile platforms. All the tasks performed by the different parts of the chip (such as CPU and GPU) will be scaled down, reducing the total power consumption of the entire processor and extending your gaming time.

Endurance Gaming Mode monitors the real-time frame rate of your game. System level tuning combined with frame rate targets provide significant power savings. When set to ‘Auto’, Endurance Gaming Mode recognizes when playing on battery, so you can enjoy longer game sessions while unplugged and on the go.

Endurance Gaming Mode has three presets:

  1. Performance: caps framerate to 60 FPS, favoring performance.
  2. Balanced: caps framerate to 40 FPS.
  3. Battery: caps framerate to 30 FPS, favoring battery duration.

Endurance Gaming feature is available only on selected designs that meet the following prerequisites:

    Software Requirements:

    • Microsoft DX9, DX11
    • Intel® Graphics Software
    • Endurance Gaming Software
    • Intel® Graphics Driver
    • Intel® Dynamic Tuning Technology with EPO& EG Policy enabled (OEM must enable and install)

In such systems, Endurance Gaming can be enabled in Intel Graphics Software.

    1. Within IGS, Open Graphics
    2. For a per-app setting, select App Profile, Click the app icon, and enable use profile.
    3. Scroll over the Endurance Gaming drop-down menu and set it to Auto.
    4. Select the desired preset.

In the event of an unintentional uninstall of this feature, it can be reinstalled through driver reinstallation.

    Note

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) decide whether this platform software is part of a system’s original design. At this time, Endurance Gaming feature will not be visible if required platform software and configuration are not present.
