Description

Fortnite crashes when changing the Window Mode (Fullscreen, Windowed Fullscreen, or Windowed).

Resolution

Get the latest Windows* update:

  1. Open the Windows Start Menu (button with the Windows logo).
  2. Click Settings (button with the gear symbol).
  3. Click Update & Security.
  4. Select Install Now or Check for Updates.
  5. Wait for the update to be installed.
  6. Click Restart now after the update is installed.

Perform Graphics Driver Clean Installation:

  1. Download and install the latest Intel® Graphics driver.
    • The most recent version of the driver with this issue resolved for UHD graphics is 31.0.101.2128. Install that version of the graphics driver or later.
    • Refer to the List of Drivers for Intel Graphics for the specific driver needed for the integrated or discrete Intel graphics.
  2. Follow the Execute a Clean Installation During Driver Installation steps from the article: Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows*

Additional information

We recommend changing the Fortnite Window Mode outside the game. Changing the Window Mode or Resolution while in-game may cause crashing issues as the game is rendered under a specific resolution.
