Steps to find Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory on the product specification page
How d0 I know if my an Intel® Processor supports ECC memory, and what components are needed?
ECC Memory Supported indicates processor support for Error-Correcting Code memory. ECC memory is a type of system memory that can detect and correct common kinds of internal data corruption. Note that ECC memory support requires both processor and chipset support; you will also need ECC memory DIMMs.
Follow the steps below for finding if your Intel Processor support the ECC.
- Identify your Intel® Processor.
- Go to the product specifications page (ARK).
- Enter the processor number in the search box, located upper-right corner.
- On the processor page, scroll down to the Memory Specification section.
- Look for ECC Memory Supported Field and check for Yes.
