"No Audio Device is Installed" After Clean Install of Windows for Unbranded Platforms

Description

The device cannot detect an audio output from the device after performing a clean installation of the OS.

Resolution

Check the device manager for potential warning signs on the devices.
If a display adapter has a warning symbol, users may follow the steps in Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows*

Another possible cause may be missing chipset drivers, which can be seen when there are warning signs on the Storage Devices dropdown on the Device Manager.
Device manufacturers provide these drivers, but this option may not be available for unbranded platforms. Consider the following:

  • Update Windows* - As Windows also provides basic drivers, it is possible that updating the OS will also include the needed drivers.
  • Try third-party driver updaters - Third-party driver installers may provide generic drivers.

If the issue persists, consider contacting Microsoft, as the issue may be with the basic driver or your place of purchase, for further assistance.
