Troubleshooting Tips for Code 10 Error with Intel® Smart Sound Technology

Description

The laptop device doesn't produce sound, and a code 10 error message is displayed in the Device Manager.

Resolution

The tips below might help with this issue:

  1. Update your system to the latest BIOS.
    • To check the BIOS version on your system, type system information in the search field and look up BIOS Version Date.
  2. Uninstall the Intel® Smart Sound Technology driver on your system using Device Manager, and reboot your system.
  3. Install the latest Intel® SST driver. Refer to your original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the latest driver and installation instructions. Once done, reboot your system.
