Description

Intel® Graphics Driver Installer cannot be launched with an error message: The application is in an unauthorized location. Please move to a non-system folder.

Resolution

The issue is caused by a modified user temporary folder, change the folder back to default or non-system folder to resolve the issue.

  1. Open Windows Settings.
  2. Select System.
  3. Click Advanced system settings.
  4. In the pop-up Windows Properties window, select Advanced.
  5. Click Environment Variables.
  6. Change TMP under User variables for USER to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp.
  7. Change TEMP under User variables for USER to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp.
  8. Click OK to save and close Environment Variables window.
  9. Click OK to save and closeWindows Properties window.
