Overheating and Thermal Issues on Intel® Arc Graphics.

Environment

Windows 11* Family, Windows® 10 family

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Summary

Adjust the fan direction for better chassis thermal dissipation.

Description

The GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and VRAM (Video Random Access Memory) temperatures are observed over 90 Celsius in Arc Control OSD (On-Screen Display) when gaming.

Resolution
  • Avoid installing the chassis fan as all intake or exhaust.
  • To optimize the thermal dissipation, there must have air exchange in the chassis, which means both intake and exhaust.
  • Check the chassis manual for the recommended fan directions depend on the different chassis design.
  • The ideal fan directions are: top-exhaust, bottom-intake, front-intake, rear-exhaust.
