Description

Users reporting low speeds when using the Intel® Ethernet Controller I225-V, speed crashes normally connected to 1GB speed.

Resolution

This mitigation option seems solid and most customers that we directly work with reported that the issue is no longer persisting after applying this.

Intel has reproduced the issue and is diligently working on a root cause and fix. For any of our customers experiencing this problem, a mitigation option to explore is to disable the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) mode in the Advanced Windows*/ Linux* driver setting. We believe this should help. We are continuing to assess the situation and will follow up accordingly.

Ensure that Energy Efficiency Ethernet settings on the driver and router side (if available) are disabled. You can do that with the following steps:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Network adapters.
  3. Right-click the network adapter you want, and then click Properties.
  4. On the Advanced tab, look for Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) option and make the appropriate changes you want.
