Intel® Arc™ Graphics Becomes Unrecognized, Resulting in a DirectX Crash

Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics

Description

An error message might come up after playing games for some time, and the game crashes to the desktop. After the game crashes, it will not reopen, and the same error message will come up. The error messages will vary and can be as the following:

DX12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.

Failed to initialize DirectX 12. Graphics drivers may require an update, or graphics adapter may not be supported.

"Unknown crash."

"Could not initialize graphics device."

Upon checking the DirectX report from Windows, the Operating System no longer detects any DirectX capabilities.

Resolution

Issue has been resolved with Intel Arc graphics driver 31.0.101.4576 BETA or newer.
