For non-moisture sensitive components (ex: PGA, LGA) that are not packed in moisture barrier bags (MBB), even if the components are received from Intel or an authorized Intel distributor with a product date code (based on test lot date) greater than 60 months, the components comply with the generic industry acceptance criteria or Component Shelf Life Policy. Intel’s general practice is to ship units with a product date code of no greater than 54 months to ensure sufficient shelf life margin at the customer site.
These components meet the following requirements:
Component date code restrictions are not relevant to Last Time Buy purchases/inventory.
For moisture sensitive components (ex: BGA) packed in MBB, all above are valid as long as the MBB seal date is less than 60 months. The shelf life computation based on the MBB seal date instead of the component date code can address potential inaccuracies in tracking to a date code and ensure the long term supply of components.
