Description

While trying to install the latest version of the Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers, the installer will show the error message:

Error code -536870328 - Unknown error (0xe0000248).

Resolution

To fix the Unknown Error (0xe0000248), follow the below steps:

Step 1. Rollback the Windows Operating System

  1. Rollback the Windows* build to the previous version (Windows 11* 22H1)
    1. Press Windows+I to open Settings.
    2. Click Update & security.
    3. Click Recovery on the left-hand side.
    4. Under Go back to the previous version of Windows, click Get Started.
  2. Install the driver with administrator privileges.

Step 2. Configure Group Policy Settings

  1. Click Start, type gpedit.msc in the search box, and press ENTER. This opens the Local Group Policy Editor. (Click Yes if you are prompted.)
  2. In Local Group Policy Editor, Expand Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation, then click Device Installation Restrictions.
  3. In the right window, double-click Prevent installation of devices not described by other policy settings.
  4. Click to select disabled, and then click OK.
  5. Restart the computer.

Step 3. Windows Update

  1. Click Start, type Windows Update settings, and press ENTER.
  2. Click Check for updates
  3. Install the driver update available
