Description

Do not know how to get the firmware version of the PSU

Resolution

Use the following IPMI commands to get the firmware version of a PSU:

  • PSU 1: ipmitool -I lanpus -H bmc_ipaddress -U bmc_username -P bmc_password  raw 0x06 0x52 0x0f 0xb0 0x04 0xD9
  • PSU 2: ipmitool -I lanpus -H bmc_ipaddress -U bmc_username -P bmc_password  raw 0x06 0x52 0x0f 0xb2 0x04 0xD9
  • PSU 3: ipmitool -I lanpus -H bmc_ipaddress -U bmc_username -P bmc_password  raw 0x06 0x52 0x0f 0xb4 0x04 0xD9

The command returns 4 bytes of HEX values, byte 2 and 3 are the firmware version:

In above example, the firmware version for PSU 2 is Byte 2 & 3 = 10 04 = 16.4
