Intel® Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V Experiences Spurious Retransmissions of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Using Wireshark

Description

  • ASUS Prime Z590-A with Windows® 11, experiencing occasional 10-20 seconds of connectivity delay with every website using any browser.
  • When booting up to Wireshark on both the Surface and the PC, the PC experiences constant spurious transmissions of TCP and duplicate ACKs.

Resolution

  1. Ensure that DHCP is enabled both for PC and router.
  2. Check router firmware is up to date.
  3. Try the Troubleshoot Network tool in Windows.
  4. Perform the Network reset in Windows.
  5. Update I225-V controller driver.
  6. Update the Intel® ME, BIOS, chipset drivers (including Intel® Serial IO driver), video and audio drivers. Contact the Manufacturer on where to find the drivers.
  7. Uninstall all applications on Windows.
  8. Wipe the hard drive and perform fresh install of Windows, performing steps 1-5 again.

If the same issue occurs, contact the System manufacturer for possible Return merchandise authorization (RMA).
