Environment

Operating System

Windows Server 2016 Family*, Windows 11* Family, Windows Server 2022 Family, Windows Server 2019 family*, Windows® 10 family

Description

Unable to change the size of the Intel® EMA logs

Resolution

It is possible to change the number of days audited.  It is possible to change the settings from the Intel® EMA User Interface.

  1. Go to the Intel® EMA Server > Manageability Server.
  2. Choose one of the two categories:

    •    Interval in hours before cleanup of audit log records in the Intel® EMA database.
    •    Interval in days before cleanup of audit log records in the Intel® EMA database.

Check the Intel® EMA Server options in section 9 Appendix – Modifying Component Server Settings for more information.

Intel® EMA database fragmentation
The EMA application by nature makes several read and write requests to the Microsoft SQL database; it generates database fragmentation.

Our recommendation is to defragment the database periodically.

Section 4.7 - Periodic Database Maintenance of the Distributed Server Installation Guide provides the settings to perform this action.
