Description

The Intel® RAID Controller gives this error message: SATA drives were detected, but this controller does not support SATA drives.

All the drives connected are SATA drives.

Resolution

  1. Check the Intel® RAID Profile in BIOS. Then, follow this article How do I Set up the Tri-Mode Controllers for NVMe*/SAS/SATA Modes? to verify and change the RAID Profile settings.
  2. Test the server system with the default option or SATA Profile.
  3. Reboot the server after changing the Profile settings and create RAID.
