Environment

Operating System

Windows 11, 64-bit*, Windows® 10, 64-bit*
Intel® Optane™ Memory

Description

Need to make a back-up copy of the operating system (OS) image.

Resolution

Because the Intel® Optane™ memory H Series contains two different media types (Intel® Optane™ Memory and NAND), backing up data is a different process from a standard SSD.

Follow any procedures provided by your system manufacturer.

Additional information

If cloning any Intel® Optane™ memory volume, it is required to disable acceleration (or unpair the devices in the volume). Once disabled, use a cloning software to clone the "slow" media portion of the device. (In the case of an Intel® Optane™ memory H Series module, this would be the Intel® NAND portion.)

Once complete, re-enable acceleration.
