BIOS version R01.01.0005 introduces support for the S5 power state when an OCP NIC is configured as a Shared BMC device.
When the system enters the S5 (soft-off) state, the OCP NIC may remain powered to support management functions. To maintain proper operating temperature for the OCP NIC, System Fan 4 continues to operate at a reduced speed.
This behavior is expected when:
The system is running BIOS version R01.01.0005.
An OCP NIC is configured for Shared BMC functionality.
System Fan 4 continues running at a low RPM to provide cooling for the OCP NIC while the system is in the S5 state.
