Resolving sudden system restart to complete or continue configuration of Intel SUR QC Software Asset Manager, which results in error code 0x80030002
A service called Intel SUR QC Software Asset Manager was causing a system reboot and error between September 13 and October 12. This service is related to the Intel® Computing Improvement Program (Intel® CIP). Intel CIP is an optional opt-in program offered to users during an initial installation of the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant.
UPDATE AS OF OCTOBER 12: This issue was investigated and found it was due to a recent server side change made on September 13 that triggered an Intel SUR QC Software Asset Manager self-upgrade on some systems with Intel CIP installed. The change was reverted on the server side to prevent triggering any self-upgrade, and users with Intel CIP installed will no longer see this issue.
