Unable to find information about how to create a DAX volume in an Intel® Optane™ SSD.
Resolution
Intel® Optane™ SSDs are not capable of managing DAX volumes.
A DAX partition applies only for Intel® Optane™ Persistent Memory (PMem) modules and not for SSDs. The Intel® Optane™ Persistent Memory (PMem) is able to manage DAX volumes.
| Note | Other hybrid devices such Intel® Optane™ H Series do not support this type of configuration. These have the storage portion and the Intel® Optane™ portion, but this is a totally different configuration and interface from the one required for DAX volumes. |
