Summary

Information about freezing and crashing issues on Intel® Killer™ Control Center when switching to ON the feature Show Inactive Applications in the Prioritization Engine tab.

Description

Setting Show Inactive Applications feature to ON in the Prioritization Engine tab causes the Intel® Killer™ Control Center app to freeze and crash.

Then, it is not possible to set it back to OFF to stop the issue since the app crashes just after launching it.

Resolution

Perform a clean installation of the Intel® Killer™ Control Center. When performing the clean install, when uninstalling the software, check that the following path was properly cleared:

"C:\Program Files\Killer Networking\Killer Control Center\".

There will be a file named user.xml there. First, uninstall and then reinstall the software and check the user.xml file is recreated.

If the problem persists, reproduce the issue and provide Intel® Customer Support with a copy of the "user.xml" file from when the system is experiencing the crashes for further analysis. Make sure that the file is populated with data before sending it to Intel® Customer Support.
