How to Enable 6 GHz Band Using Intel® Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 Products
All Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and Intel® Wi-Fi 7 products support the new 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi. Usage of the 6 GHz band relies on Microsoft Windows* (Windows® 11) Operating System support. Please contact Microsoft for additional details.
Also note that regulatory bodies in some countries prohibit using the 6 GHz band. It also may not be enabled on your platform by the system manufacturer. Intel recommends checking if your country's regulations allow the usage of the 6 GHz band and if the system manufacturer has enabled devices to support the 6 GHz band in your country.
Requirements to enable the 6 GHz band:
- Ensure your system is running on Microsoft Windows 11*, including the latest updates available from Microsoft.
- Use the latest Wi-Fi drivers for Intel® Wireless adapters:
- Requirements:
- A Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 compatible router is required to access the 6 GHz band.
- A Wi-Fi 7 compatible router and the Windows 11 24H2 (or later) OS are required to enable Wi-Fi 7 functionality.
