Some users have experienced high CPU usage caused by the Intel® Killer Control Center, often with the inability to update or effectively uninstall the Intel Killer Control Center. This issue usually happens due to older versions of the software running on the latest version of Windows® 10.

If your system is running slowly due to high CPU usage, try disabling the Killer Network service. To do this:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Scroll until you find Intel Killer Network Service or Rivet Bandwidth Control and double-click.
  4. Click Stop. It may take a few moments for the service to stop.
  5. Click OK and close the Services window.

Once you have stopped the service, your computer should be more responsive.

Next, perform a clean installation of the latest Intel® Killer Control Center
