Description

The system is reporting a fault with the Baseboard +12V sensor, which may affect the operation of SATA drives, fans, and PCI-E cards. Users may notice system instability or errors related to these components

Resolution

Regarding the Baseboard +12V (BB +12.0V) sensor (Sensor# D0h), the +12 V is supplied by the power supplies and used by SATA drives, fans, and PCI-E* cards. Additionally, it is used to generate various processor voltages. As a result, proceed as recommended in the Threshold-based voltage sensors - next steps section in the corresponding System Event Log (SEL) Troubleshooting guide:

Below steps help ensure that power supply issues are addressed, which can prevent further system errors:

  1. Ensure all cables are connected correctly.
  2. Check connections on the fans and hard disk drives (HDDs).
  3. Update the BIOS/firmware to the latest.
  4. If the issue follows a component, swap it.
