Environment

May apply to all motherboards that contains BIOS / CMOS(Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor) batteries.

Description

USB devices are not powered on nor detected. I have also received randomly the 9A error code (DXE USB start) when attempting to boot into the system.
Sometimes the system hangs at POST(Power On Self Test).
No beep error codes from the server.

Resolution

In order to resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. Turn "OFF" the device.
  2. Remove the power cord or disconnect the device from the mains.
  3. Remove the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) battery and the memory modules at the same time.
  4. After 10 minutes, reinsert the battery and the memory, reconnect to the mains and turn on the device.

Pay attention to place the same modules in same the slots!
