Summary

How to enable the "make USB devices non-bootable function" in BIOS.

Description

Windows* is stuck at the logo screen and is unable to boot up properly when I use a 3rd party USB dongle.

Resolution
  • Some users have a dongle connected to the USB port. The dongle can be a hardware encryption device, or WIFI or Bluetooth adapter.
  • In BIOS, "make USB devices non-bootable function" is disabled by default. When this happens, the computer will not boot into the Windows.

  1. To solve this, go to BIOS > ADVANCED > USB configuration > enable the "make USB devices non-bootable function".

Note: You may need to contact the computer manufacturer to find out how to enter BIOS, as it may be different among manufacturers.
