Description

Getting Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) errors when trying to initialize or create a partition in the drive.

If CRC errors are detected by the system, try the following:

Update the firmware of the drive: Quick Tips on How to View Drive Details, Update Firmware, and View/Export SMART Logs Using the Intel® Memory and Storage Tool.
Perform a low level format: How to Low-Level Format an Intel® Optane™ SSD with the Intel® Memory and Storage Tool (Intel® MAS), or with third-party tools Available Tools to Run a Low-Level Format or Secure Erase on Intel® Optane™ Solid State Drives.
Check in Disk Management if the drive is set as a Basic disk type. If it is not, change it to Basic type. Refer to Change a dynamic disk back to a basic disk for detailed instructions.
