Description

How do I know if the processor supports Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)?

Resolution

Second Level Address Translation (SLAT) is a hardware mechanism. It is supported when Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT-x) is supported. Go to the product specification page for your processor and look for Intel® Virtualization Technology located under Advanced Technology.

The SLAT is one of the requirements for installing Microsoft Hyper-V*.

To see if it is supported in your system, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Windows* key and type command prompt.
  2. Type systeminfo.exe
  3. Check the Hyper-V Requirements section.
