I want to use the latest Microcode dated 3/12/2018, but when installing it shows as 20/08/2013. Below is where I downloaded the microcode update.

Resolution

To install the latest Microcode, you must install the latest BIOS containing the Microcode update.

The document shows the development of the Microcode. There will be a delay between Intel validation and launch of the Microcode, and the implementation into a system manufacturer's motherboard. This implementation is done via a BIOS update.

The Microcode update on our website is used with Linux to help it identify the processor correctly. This doesn't have the security updates, however, as this is only handled by the update via the BIOS update.
