OS Installation Not Starting in UEFI Mode

Environment

Intel® Server Board S1200SP BIOS in UEFI Mode Windows* Server 2016  Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25KB040 USB Formatted in NTFS

Description

When server board is set to Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) mode, the operating system installation does not begin. Only a black loading screen can be seen.

Resolution

Windows Server* 2016 is not a validated OS for the Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS25KB040.

Proceed as follows to attempt to resolve this issue:

  1. Enter the BIOS menu by pressing F2 during POST.
  2. Select the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  3. Set the Boot Mode to Legacy.
