Quantization Range Option in Intel® Graphics Software, Intel® Graphics Control Panel, or Intel® Graphics Command Center User Guide

The Quantization Range option can be found on the Intel® Graphics Software within the Display tab and on  Intel® Control Panel and the Intel® Graphics Command Center under Display > General Settings.
This function allows you to control the black and white leves of a connected display.

  • Select Limited Range to specify a subset of the RGB range. Limited range typically has a black level of 16 and a white level of 235 in 8-bit mode.
  • Select Full Range to use the entire RGB range, with the value range of 0-255 for Red, Green, and Blue color channels. This allows for more accurate and deeper colors such as brighter whites and darker blacks. 

Depending on the display you are using, your colors may look a little gray. Limited is most commonly used on TV screens, while Full is the recommended setting.
